Light Has Come

Description

In the darkness of a winter night, He came. Like the sun returning to the sky near the Arctic Circle, bringing new life to the frozen tundra, He comes, today. Like the warmth of day melts the ice covering the soil so that plants can grow and nourish other life, He is waiting, now.

The seed which lay dormant beneath the earth feels the sun's warming rays and stirs, first the root grows within the seed, then it pushes its way out so that tender leaves can stretch to the light. The frozen lake thaws, the ice thinning gradually until it breaks apart in floes, and birds come to rest on its glittering surface, rejoicing, for the time of courtship draws near.

He is our Beloved, who came to us, though He is Creator and Ruler of all, in the flesh, as one of us. We are His beloved, for whom He accepted the ultimate humiliation, being crucified and dying for us to reconcile us and bring us new life. He is the light of the world, and today we celebrate His coming. Advent, the season of preparation to receive Him, is over, for ready or not, He comes.

We the unworthy, blessed by His grace, have lived through the darkest night, and ahead, if we welcome Him who came as a child, as children ourselves, is the sunrise, for He will light our way. His Spirit will melt the ice of fear, doubt, and despair, and give us the warmth of His comfort and joy. His seed, the Word of God, will take root in our life and grow to bear much fruit, if we will learn from Him to love God and one another. He will lead us, we will not walk in darkness, and He will protect us, as the Good Shepherd.

The Light of the World has come among us, so that we may dwell with Him forever, Hallelujah!

This is my entry into the Christmas contest on the Christians group--the fractal created in Apophysis and the description to go with it.  I used Apophysis 7x and random-batch generated variables, then tinkered with it alot in the Fx editor, and as usual fined-tuned the color & brightness on the render.  Here is the fractal I first created, which I then edited to get this one. P.a.u.s.e. by rhunel As you can see, the twelve-scalloped edge is what I saw the potential in.  It wasn't until I figured out how to make it lie flat, that I could create the Light Has Come fractal above.

With much love,
Debra
